Despite taking an early lead, Toro fell to 2-1 defeat against Lazio on Tuesday evening as their battle to avoid relegation continues.

The Granata made the perfect start as they were awarded a penalty within five minutes when Nicolas Nkoulou's volley was handled by Ciro Immobile in the area.

Andrea Belotti, who had missed his last penalty against Parma stepped up and confidently sent Thomas Strakosha the wrong way to give Toro the lead.

Ciro Immobile had two excellent chances to make amends for the concession of that penalty but on both occasions blazed high over the bar.

However, just three minutes into the second half, the former Toro striker finally grabbed his goal, with a clever finish across Salvatore Sirigu.

With less than twenty minutes remaining and Toro hoping to cling on to a valuable point, Marco Parolo's deflected effort from just outside the area gave Sirigu no chance and was enough to give Lazio all three points.

Halloween arrived early for Torino on Wednesday evening as a defensive horror show saw the Granata lose 4-0 at Lazio.

Lyanco replaced Koffi Djidji in defence, whilst Diego Laxalt, Sasa Lukic, Soualiho Meïté and Simone Zaza also earned starts.

Felipe Caicedo had the first chance of the game, but the Ecuadorian striker curled his shot wide of the target.

The home side took the lead after twenty-five minutes from absolutely nowhere, with centre back Francesco Acerbi scoring an unbelievable goal from more than thirty yards.

Lazio doubled their lead less than ten minutes later, as former Toro striker Ciro Immobile was able to fire past Salvatore Sirigu.

Toro made a brighter start to the second half, and almost pulled a goal back when Soualiho Meite's shot could only be parried by Thomas Strakosha, but Andrea Belotti volleyed the rebound onto the crossbar.

Any hopes of a comeback for Toro were ended when Nicolas Nkoulou received a second yellow card for a challenge on Caicedo, and Lazio were awarded a penalty. Immobile stepped up and sent Sirigu the wrong way to extend their lead.

With the last kick of the game, Lazio added a fourth as Andrea Belotti glanced a header into his own net to cap a night to forget for the Granata.

Torino ended the season in style with a 3-1 victory over Lazio on Sunday afternoon in Emiliano Moretti's final game before retirement.

Despite it being his last professional game, Emiliano Moretti started the game on the bench, with Bremer given a rare start.

The first half was one of few chances, but five minutes into the second half, the Granata took the lead when Ola Aina's long throw was volleyed home by Iago Falque.

Toro doubled their lead just two minutes later as good footwork from Soualiho Meïté put Sasa Lukic through on goal, and the Serbian slotted the ball past the on rushing Silvio Proto.

Lazio reduced the deficit when former Toro striker Ciro Immobile finished well despite being under pressure from Nicolas Nkoulou.

However, Toro made sure of the points with ten minutes remaining when Lorenzo De Silvestri was on hand to score after Proto saved Simone Zaza's shot.

Emiliano Moretti came on for the final five minutes and received the captain's armband from Andrea Belotti as he ended his career as a professional footballer on the winning side.

Torino host Lazio in the final game of the 2018/19 Serie A season, as Emiliano Moretti plays the final  game of his career.

The experienced defender announced his retirement during the week, and highlighted his class by asking coach Walter Mazzarri not to be involved in case it overshadowed the match itself.

The home side’s Europa League aspirations were dented when Lazio won the Coppa Italia, but the Granata will finish the season in 7th if they avoid defeat.

Torino made it to the half way point of the season with their unbeaten away record still in tact as they drew 1-1 with Lazio on Saturday afternoon.

As expected, Salvatore Sirigu and Koffi Djidji returned to the starting eleven, whilst Lorenzo De Silvestri was preferred to Ola Aina at right wing back.

Toro had the first chance of the game, but former Lazio man De Silvestri saw his header from Cristian Ansaldi's cross come back off the post.

At the other end, it was former Toro striker Ciro Immobile who almost opened the scoring, but he was denied by Salvatore Sirigu.

On the stroke of half time, Toro were awarded a penalty when Adam Marusic pushed Andrea Belotti in the area. Belotti stepped up to take the penalty, and his powerful effort did enough to beat Thomas Strakosha.

Torino should have doubled their lead early in the second half when the ball diverted into the path of an unmarked Lorenzo De Silvestri, but the wing back blazed his effort over the bar.

It did not take long for Toro to be punished for that miss, as just after the hour mark, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic equalised with a sensational long range effort.

It was proving not be De Silvestri's day as the defender hit the post again with a header, after first having a shot cleared off the line.

The game had an ill tempered ending as both Adam Marusic and then Soualiho Meïté saw red as both sides had to make do with a point.

Torino travel to Rome on Saturday afternoon to face Lazio, hoping to cut the gap to their opponents, and the Champions League places, to only two points.

Torino are without a win in four games as they fell to defeat against Champions League chasing Lazio on Sunday night.

Salvatore Sirigu made a great save to deny Alessandro Murgia in the opening stages, who scored in this fixture last season.

Lorenzo De Silvestri almost scored against his former team, but he was denied by Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.

Lazio were awarded a penalty when Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was upended by Nicolas N'Koulou, however, Luis Alberto's penalty was saved by Salvatore Sirigu.

Sirigu was continuing to perform heroics in the Torino goal, as he produced a magnificent save to deny Lucas Leiva. However, from the resulting corner, Milinkovic-Savic headed home to give Lazio a deserved lead.

Lazio had numerous chances to extend the lead against a Toro team who lacked any quality and honestly looked as though they couldn't wait for the season to be finished - a worrying trait with three games remaining.

With Toro's chances of European football qualification virtually over, Walter Mazzarri may choose to give a few youngsters an opportunity, and Eric Ferigra, Ndari Adopo and Ben Lhassine Kone are all included in the squad.

Elsewhere, Lorenzo Des Silvestri and Daniele Baselli have returned from suspension, whilst Iago Falque is now fully fit.

Lazio are still hopeful of qualifying for next season's Champions League, and a victory would put them four points clear of Inter in 5th.

Torino won their first away game since September as they benefited from former striker Ciro Immobile's first half red card on Monday evening.

Cristian Molinaro and Mirko Valdifiori came into the starting eleven, whilst Adem Ljajic was dropped from the squad for a breach of discipline and replaced by Alex Berenguer.

Toro started brightly, and were unlucky not to take the lead when Andrea Belotti's powerful effort hit the inside of the post following Iago Falque's clever assist. At the other end, Ciro Immobile should have done better when through on goal, but his delayed shot was finally blocked by Nicolas N'Koulou.

Iago Falque was once again the provider as he played an excellent pass to find Cristian Molinaro in space, but the full back dragged his shot wide of the far post.

One the stroke of half time the turning point occurred when Ciro Immobile clashed with Nicolas Burdisso in an off-the-ball incident. Immobile, who was already aggrieved by the referee's denial of a possible penalty for handball moments earlier, appeared to headbutt the Argentine after he had approached him.

After the referee consulted VAR, Immobile was given a straight red card and Lazio would have to play the whole second half with only ten men.

It took the Granata less than ten minutes to take advantage of their numerical superiority thanks to Alex Berenguer's solo effort, which was a mixture of skill and luck to earn the Spaniard his first Serie A goal.

There was nothing lucky about Toro's second goal, as Venezuelan midfielder Tomas Rincon picked the ball up from outside the area before curling a left footed into the top corner - an incredible way to score his first Torino goal.

Despite being down to ten men, the home side game themselves a lifeline when Andrea Belotti lost possession and Luis Alberto waltzed through the Toro defence to score. However, Torino re-established their two goal lead just four minutes later when substitute Simone Edera fired home an excellent left footed strike from just outside the area to clinch all three points.

Torino will look to win their first away match in three months when they travel to Rome to face Lazio on Monday evening.

The Granata have endured a disappointing campaign so far, with only four victories out of fifteen matches this season, and a run of four consecutive draws have not helped their quest for points.

Cristian Ansaldi and M'Baye Niang are both unavailable due to injury, so youth team players Alessandro Fiordaliso and Ben Lhassine Kone are included in the squad for the first time.

Lazio have been in excellent form, winning seven of their last nine Serie A fixtures, although they were held 1-1 by Fiorentina in their last home game.

Torino's poor away record continued on Monday evening as they conceded two late goals to lose 3-1 against Lazio.

The home side dominated the first half, with former Toro striker Ciro Immobile going closest but he was denied by Joe Hart.

Sinisa Mihajlovic made a rare defensive change to begin the second half, with Cristian Molinaro returning from injury to replace Daniele Baselli as the Granata changed to a more conservative formation. However, Lazio would take the lead just before the hour mark as Immobile capitalised on Emiliano Moretti's failure to clear a low cross.

Maxi Lopez came on with Torino looking to force an equaliser, and the Argentine striker provided it after being on the pitch for less than ten minutes as he headed home Juan Iturbe's free kick.

Torino were looking a threat on the counter attack, but with less than five minutes remaining, substitute Keita Baldé gave Lazio the lead thanks to an outstanding long range effort.

Felipe Anderson added a third goal in injury time with Torino chasing an equaliser, as the Granata's poor away form continued.

Torino will look to improve their horrendous away record when they travel to the capital to face Lazio on Monday night.

Toro have only won two away games all season - both against teams in the bottom three, Palermo and Crotone. Torino have not kept a clean sheet since January 8th, which could mean fit again Brazilian defenders Carlão and Leandro Castan could feature.

Lazio are still in the race for a Champions League spot and have won four of their last five Serie A games, with former Toro striker Ciro Immobile scoring in his last three appearances.

Torino extended their unbeaten record to six games thanks to Adem Ljajic's injury time penalty against Lazio on Sunday afternoon.

Sinisa Mihajlovic kept faith with the same eleven who convincingly beat Palermo on Monday evening, as Toro looked for a fourth consecutive victory.

Toro started brightly and were ahead after only twenty minutes when Davide Zappacosta's excellent cross was headed home by the unlikely figure of Iago Falque.

Lazio should have been level when Keita Balde ran through on goal, but the Senegalese international put his shot wide under pressure from Leandro Castan.

Former Toro striker Ciro Immobile was heavily jeered by the home supporters who felt betrayed by the way he left the club in the summer, and he was denied an equaliser at the start of the second half by a good save from Joe Hart.

However, with twenty minutes remaining, Immobile scored the goal that seemed inevitable as he met Felipe Anderson's cross with a fine bicycle kick.

Mihajlovic made an attacking change in search of a winner as Maxi Lopez replaced Marco Benassi, but it was Lazio who were now looking the more dangerous side, and Hart made another good save to deny Danilo Cataldi.

However from the resulting corner, youngster Alessandro Murgia was left unmarked and the substitute headed home with only six minutes left.

Lucas Boyé was sent on immediately as Toro ended the game with five attackers on the pitch, and were rewarded for their bravery when they were awarded a penalty following Marco Parolo's hand ball.

Adem Ljajic took the penalty and put it straight down the middle to earn Toro a share of the spoils, which in all honesty, was probably a fair result.

Torino's disappointing away form continued on Sunday evening as they fell to a 3-0 defeat against in form Lazio.

Andrea Belotti was rewarded for his impressive substitute appearance against AC Milan with a start, whilst Giuseppe Vives was preferred to Alessandro Gazzi in midfield and Bruno Peres returned from injury.

Toro started well and it was Bruno Peres who had their best chance of the half but his half-volley was tipped over the bar by former Toro keeper Federico Marchetti. However, five minutes before half time Toro fell behind when some suspect defending allowed Miroslav Klose to win a header, and the ball fell to Senad Lulic whose scuffed finish somehow beat Daniele Padelli.

Lazio doubled their lead with twenty minutes remaining, and the goal was simplicity at it's best. A long kick from Marchetti was headed on and Klose fed a through ball to Felipe Anderson who calmly finished past Padelli.

In injury time, Felipe Anderson added a third goal from just outside the area which was harsh on Toro - but sealed a third successive away defeat for the Granata.

Torino will look to improve their away form when they travel to the capital to face Lazio on Sunday evening.

The Granata have not won on the road since the opening day, and have lost their last two away fixtures against Chievo and Carpi. However, Giampiero Ventura has been able to include Brazilian wing back Bruno Peres in the squad following injury, whilst Ukrainian defender Vasyl Pryima is called up for the first time.

Lazio have won all four of their home league games this season, but did have to play over eighty minutes with ten men in the Europa League on Thursday, so Toro may be able to capitalise on a few tired legs.

Torino prepared for Thursday's crucial Europa League tie against Zenit with a 2-0 home defeat against Champions League chasing Lazio on Monday evening.

Giampiero Ventura's team selection suggested that his attention was already on Thursday's game, as fringe players Pontus Jansson, Gaston Silva, Migjen Basha and Amauri came into the starting eleven.

Marco Parolo had Lazio's best chance of the first half, but his near post shot was tipped over the bar by Daniele Padelli. At the other end, Amauri's header forced a great save from former Toro man Federico Marchetti, whilst Josef Martinez put the rebound wide of the post.

Substitute Keita Baldé somehow missed a one on one opportunity when well placed, and it looked as though Toro may hold on for a point. However, with twenty minutes remaining Felipe Anderson scored a wonderful solo effort that begun on the centre circle, before finishing calmly past Padelli.

Toro's best chance for an equaliser came from Matteo Darmian, but the Italy international's long range shot was tipped round the post by Marchetti.

The result was put beyond any doubt with twelve minutes remaining, and once again it was Felipe Anderson, but this time the Brazilian needed the help of a deflection to get the ball into the net.

With this game sandwiched between the two Europa League ties against Zenit, it did seem as if Toro's attention was elsewhere, and if the Granata do manage to eliminate the Russian side, then this game and performance will be quickly forgotten.

Toro include former Lazio man Alvaro Gonzalez in the squad for tomorrow's match, but Cristian Molinaro and Alessandro Gazzi miss out through injury. With Thursday's crucial Europa League tie in mind, Giampiero Ventura may choose to rest a number of key players.

Lazio have already beaten the Granata at the Olimpico this season (3-1 in the Coppa Italia) and travel to Turin in excellent form, having won their last four fixtures.
