Inter 3-1 Torino

Torino conceded three goals at the start of the second half as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to Inter on Monday evening.

Cristian Ansaldi was surprisingly named in the front three alongside Simone Verdi and Andrea Belotti, whilst Armando Izzo returned to the team following his suspension.

Toro were gifted the lead after just seventeen minutes, when Samir Handanovic dropped a corner right to the feet of Andrea Belotti, who has now scored in six consecutive games.

The Granata had a valid appeal for a penalty turned down when Alessandro Bastoni appeared to handle in the area, whilst Ansaldi forced a save from Handanovic just before the break.

Inter began the second half like a different team, and were level within three minutes of the restart when Lautaro Martinez nodded back for Ashley Young to volley home.

Three minutes later, Inter took the lead with almost a carbon copy - this time Alexis Sanchez headed back for Diego Godin to head home.

On the hour mark, Lautaro Martinez added a third goal via the aid of a deflection from Bremer with Toro still seemingly in shock.

Andrea Belotti almost pulled a goal back for Toro, but his header hit the crossbar and the Granata lost once again.

Torino will head to the San Siro to face Inter on Monday evening looking to pick up more points to secure their Serie A status.

Armando Izzo is available again following suspension, and could replace Lyanco in the back three, whilst Alex Berenguer is expected to replace the suspended Simone Zaza.

Inter have suffered a couple of disappointing results since the restart, with a defeat against Bologna in their last home game all but ending their slim hopes of a title challenge. However, a victory here would move the Nerazzurri into 2nd place.

Torino host Inter at the Stadio Grande Torino on Saturday evening in search of back-to-back victories for the first time since August.

The Granata will be without Lyanco who was injured on international duty, whilst Daniele Baselli and Tomas Rincon are also doubts despite being included in the squad. Alex Berenguer, who scored twice as a substitute against Brescia is in line to be rewarded with a starting place.

Inter have made an excellent start to the season, and are only one point behind Juventus at the top of the table under new manager Antonio Conte.

Torino reignited their hopes for Europa League qualification following a narrow 1-0 victory over Inter on Sunday evening.

Armando Izzo returned to the starting eleven following suspension, whilst Cristian Ansaldi maintained his place in centre midfield, and Simone Zaza made a rare start upfront.

The away side should have taken the lead in the early stages but Lautaro Martínez somehow put his shot wide of the post when well placed.

Salvatore Sirigu made a good save to deny Mauro Icardi as the Granata had to withstand a spell of early pressure from Inter.

However, with ten minutes until half time, it was Toro who would take the lead as Armando Izzo met Cristian Ansaldi's cross with a looping header into the far corner.

Both sides struggled to create chances after the break, although substitute Matteo Politano whistled a shot just past the post from long range.

Frustration would later get the better of the former Sassuolo man, as he was shown a straight red card in the dying moments for dissent, and Toro were able to hold on for a valuable three points.

Torino face Inter at the Stadio Grande Torino on Sunday evening hoping to re-ignite their challenge for a Europa League place.

Armando Izzo has recovered from suspension and should replace Lyanco in defence, whilst Daniele Baselli and Sasa Lukic have both recovered from injury. However, Cristian Ansaldi, who impressed when deputising in centre midfield against Roma could keep his place.

Up front, Simone Zaza could earn a rare start and partner Andrea Belotti in attack, with Iago Falque dropped to the bench.

Inter are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches, however, they did only draw against Chievo and Sassuolo, which should give Toro hope of causing an upset.

Torino came back from 2-0 down at half time to earn a deserved point against Inter at the San Siro on Sunday evening.

Cristian Ansaldi returned from suspension to start at left wing back, whilst Roberto Soriano made his first start for the club replacing the injured Daniele Baselli.

The home side took the lead after just six minutes when Mauro Icardi crossed for Ivan Perisic to smash home.

Toro were unusually poor in the first half, and conceded a second goal when Stefan De Vrij headed home Matteo Politano's free kick just after the half hour mark.

After a few harsh words by coach Walter Mazzarri at half time, Torino emerged as a different team in the second half and reduced the deficit after fifty-six minutes.

Iago Falque's was inside his own half when he found an inch perfect pass for strike partner Andrea Belotti, whose first touch beat Samir Handanovic and second touch found the back of the net.

Torino were then level twelve minutes later, as Soualiho Meite collected a loose ball on the edge of the area, took it past Ivan Perisic and his deflected shot then beat Handanovic for the second time.

Incredibly, Toro then had chances to win the game as Andrea Belotti volleyed just over the bar from Ola Aina's clever knock down and substitute Adem Ljajic forced a save from Handanovic.

In the dying moments, Torino keeper Salvatore Sirigu made a sensational save from Perisic's long range strike to ensure the Granata went back to Turin with a deserved point.

Torino will look to get their first points of the new season when they make the short trip to Milan to face Inter on Sunday evening.

Lorenzo De Silvestri and Armando Izzo have recovered from injuries picked up in the defeat against Roma, but Daniele Baselli was injured in training and will likely be replaced by Roberto Soriano.

Inter also lost on the opening weekend, a shock 1-0 defeat at Sassuolo and coach Luciano Spalletti is expected to make a number of changes from that match.

Torino won a third consecutive game for the first time this season as they beat Inter 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

As expected, Nicolas N'Koulou returned to the starting eleven whilst Joel Obi replaced the suspended Tomas Rincon.

Inter thought they had taken the lead in the early moments, but Salvatore Sirigu made a sensational save to tip Mauro Icardi's volley over the bar.

The away side were enjoying the majority of possession, and Croatian winger Ivan Perisic also came close, but his header hit the bar.

Ten minutes before half time, Toro took the lead against the run of play, as Perisic inadvertently played the ball into the path of Lorenzo De Silvestri who crossed for Adem Ljajic to score.

In the second half, it was Samir Handanovic's turn to make a miraculous save as he denied Lorenzo De Silvestri's acrobatic effort.

Adem Ljajic also had an opportunity to double Toro's lead, and perhaps should have crossed for Andrea Belotti who was better placed.

Nicolas N'Koulou enhanced his reputation by making an excellent goal line clearance to deny Miranda's header, whilst Rafinha saw his volley rebound off the post.

Torino held on for a hard fought victory to keep their slim chances of Europa League qualification alive for another week at least.

Torino face Inter on Sunday afternoon looking to achieve a third successive victory to keep their slight Europa League hopes on track. 

Toro will be without the suspended Tomas Rincon so Afriyie Acquah should deputise whilst Nicolas N'Koulou could replace Kevin Bonifazi in the back three.

Inter are unbeaten in their last five and are hoping for a positive result to ensure qualification for next season's Champions League.

Torino produced their best performance of the season so far as they almost inflicted a first defeat of the season on high flying Inter.

Toro once again lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, with former Inter defender Nicolás Burdisso the surprise inclusion as the Argentine made his Granata debut.

Daniele Baselli's had Toro's first effort but his long range effort was well saved by Inter keeper Samir Handanovič. At the other end, Salvatore Sirigu made an excellent stop to deny Milan Škriniar from heading home.

Baselli went close once again just before half time, but the midfielder's near post header was turned round the post by Handanovič.

Toro took the lead on the hour mark as Iago Falque, scored a goal typical of the Spanish winger as he cut in on his left foot before firing home.

The Granata should have doubled their lead moments later, but Joel Obi somehow headed over the bar from close range after Adem Ljajic's free kick.

Inter equalised ten minutes from time, as substitute Eder finished well following Mauro Icardi's assist.

Torino will certainly feel disappointed with a point given the fact they took the lead, but the performance was extremely encouraging.

Torino travel to the San Siro on Sunday afternoon looking to build on their much needed victory against Cagliari last weekend.

Tomas Rincon is back from suspension and should return to the starting eleven, whilst Lyanco has recovered from injury and is back in the squad.

Inter are currently unbeaten this season and only two points behind leaders Napoli in what has been an impressive start for new coach Luciano Spalletti.

However, Toro have a surprisingly good record away to Inter in recent seasons, having won two of the last three meetings between the sides at San Siro.

Torino earned a deserved point in an entertaining 2-2 draw with in-form Inter on Saturday evening, although two Joe Hart errors proved costly.

Juan Iturbe was once again preferred to Iago Falque, whist Cristian Molinaro started in place of Antonio Barreca and Afriyie Acquah was given a rare start in midfield.

The away side took the lead mid-way through the first half as Joe Hart let a low shot from Geoffrey Kondogbia squirm past his right arm. However, Toro were level six minutes later when Adem Ljajic's corner was flicked on by Emiliano Moretti and Daniele Baselli headed in from five yards out.

Toro took the lead on the hour mark as a flowing counter attack was finished off by Afriyie Acquah whose sublime shot found the far corner. However, Inter would equalise moments later as Joe Hart failed to claim a cross and that allowed Antonio Candreva to volley home.

Ivan Perisic missed an excellent chance to claim all three points for the visitors in the dying seconds, but he blazed his volley over the bar. Therefore, both teams had to settle for a point which was probably a fair result as neither side deserved to be on the end of a defeat.

Torino will look for a third consecutive victory at the Stadio Grande Torino when they face Inter on Saturday evening.

Leandro Castan could return to the starting eleven to try and help a Toro defence that has not kept a clean sheet since January, whilst Iago Falque will also be pushing for a recall.

Torino fell to a first defeat since mid-September after Mauro Icardi's late goal was enough for Inter to claim all three points.

Sinisa Mihajlovic made three changes from the side who rescued a point late on against Lazio as Emiliano Moretti replaced the injured Leandro Castan and midfielders Afriyie Acquah and Joel Obi both came into the starting eleven.

Portuguese midfielder João Mário had the first chance of the match for the home side but his long range effort whistled past the post. 

Ten minutes before half time Inter took the lead and it will be one which Toro goalkeeper Joe Hart would like to forget. It looked as though the England international would intercept Antonio Candreva's over hit through ball, but the former Manchester City man failed to claim the ball cleanly and it ricocheted off Mauro Icardi's trailing leg and into the net.

Mihajlovic was not pleased with Toro's first half display and bought on Maxi Lopez for Iago Falque and changed the formation to 4-3-1-2. 

Joe Hart made amends for his earlier error by making a good save to deny Marcelo Brozović, and moments later the Granata were level. Hart's goal kick somehow made its way to Andrea Belotti, and thanks to some comical defending from Cristian Ansaldi and Jeison Murillo, the Italian international was able to fire a powerful left footed shot past Samir Handanović.

Inter should have taken the lead almost immediately after the restart, but Brozović somehow managed to miss a free header from only three yards out, whilst Candreva and Icardi also missed good chances. 

However, with only two minutes remaining, Icardi received the ball with his back to goal before turning Luca Rossettini and unleashing a fierce shot into the corner of Joe Hart's net to give Frank De Boer's side a much needed victory.

Torino will be looking to increase the pressure on Inter coach Frank De Boer when they travel to the San Siro on Wednesday evening.

Toro will be without Leandro Castan so Emiliano Moretti or Cesare Bovo could deputise, whilst Afriyie Acquah could also come into the starting eleven.

Inter coach Frank De Boer could be sacked should the home side fail to beat Toro, as the Milan club have lost four of their last five games - and the one victory was an extremely fortuitous one against Southampton in the Europa League.

Torino finally end their long run without a victory thanks to an impressive 2-1 victory over nine men Inter on Sunday evening.

Inter were awarded a controversial penalty after only seventeen minutes when Marcelo Brozovic's shot hit the arm of Emiliano Moretti who had attempted to block the shot.

Mauro Icardi stepped up and his powerful effort beat Daniele Padelli from 12 yards to give the home side the lead.

Toro were level ten minutes into the 2nd half after excellent hold up play from Maxi Lopez allowed the Argentine to feed Cristian Molinaro who scored a rare goal with his right foot.

Moments after that goal Inter were reduced to ten men when defender Miranda was dismissed for a second yellow card. Despite that setback, Inter almost took the lead through Icardi's close range header, but he was denied by an excellent save from Padelli.

With less than twenty minutes remaining, Yuto Nagatomo was adjudged to have fouled Andrea Belotti in the area and as the Japanese international was the last man he was also given his marching orders.

Belotti stepped up and sent penalty saving expert Samir Handanovic the wrong way to give Toro the lead.

The Granata had more chances on the counter attack to extend their lead, with Daniele Baselli coming the closest but his effort hit the post late on. The score remained 2-1 as Toro claimed a much needed victory, and their second successive win against Inter at the San Siro.

Torino will travel to the San Siro hoping for a repeat of last year's dramatic victory when Emiliano Moretti's scored in injury time.

With Toro just five points above the bottom three, the Granata need points quickly to ease any relegation fears. That task will be made more difficult by the fact that Kamil Glik is suspended whilst Afriyie Acquah and Ciro Immobile are both injured.

The home side are in good form and have won their last four league games at the San Siro and need points if they are to maintain their challenge for a top 3 finish.

Torino's run of winless games stretched to six as they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Inter on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico.

Gaston Silva was chosen to replace the suspended Cesare Bovo whilst Marco Benassi and Andrea Belotti were also given starts.

And it was former Inter man Benassi who almost scored his second spectacular goal of the season, but his long range effort hit the bar.

The Granata were made to pay for that missed opportunity, as Inter went straight down the other end and took the lead. Yuto Nagatomo's free kick was flicked on by Rodrigo Palacio and the ball fell to Geoffrey Kondogbia who volleyed home.

Toro thought they had valid claims for a penalty before half time when Andrea Belotti was tripped by Jeison Murillo, but the referee waved away the former Palermo man's protests.

Samir Handanovic made two sensational saves to first deny Fabio Quagliarella and then Andrea Belotti as Torino began to dominate. However, despite two more chances for Quagliarella, Toro could not find a way past the Slovenian and fell to their first home defeat of the season.

Torino will look to bounce back from their heartbreaking last minute defence against Juventus when they face Inter on Sunday.

The Granata have not won a game since the 27th September, a 1-0 victory at home to Palermo, so will be looking to amend that statistic.

Toro will have to do without Derby Della Mole goal hero Cesare Bovo who is suspended, so Vasyl Pryima could make his debut.

Inter have been in great form this season and have only lost one game, a surprise 4-1 home defeat by Fiorentina.

Emiliano Moretti's 94th minute winner gave Torino their first win against Inter at the San Siro since 1988 on Sunday afternoon.

Giampiero Ventura made just the one change from the team who beat Cesena last weekend, and that was an enforced one, as the suspended Bruno Peres was replaced by Cristian Molinaro.

The first chance of the game fell to Fredy Guarin but the Colombian midfielder blazed his shot over the bar. Mauro Icardi forced Daniele Padelli into making a good save, whilst Joel Obi also fired wide of the target as the home side were limited to half chances.

Despite the home side dominating possession, Toro did look dangerous on the counter attack and Josef Martinez should have done better with a free header from a corner. The Granata were creating more and more as the game wore on, and both Cristian Molinaro and Fabio Quagliarella had late chances to earn all three points for Torino.

However, with the final kick of the game Torino did win it, as Omar El Kaddouri's corner was flicked on by substitute Maxi Lopez and experienced defender Emiliano Moretti got the final touch to earn the Granata a memorable victory.

This was a perfect away performance from Toro who remained solid at the back and for once took the chance that they were presented with in the latter stages. This victory was the first time Torino have beaten one of the established 'big clubs' in Serie A since returning to the top division three seasons ago.
