Torino secured a fifth consecutive Serie A home victory after three late goals secured a victory over a stubborn Chievo side.
Walter Mazzarri had named an unchanged starting eleven from the team who beat Atalanta last weekend, however Ola Aina was injured in the warm up and was replaced by Cristian Ansaldi.
The first half was devoid of any quality or any clear cut chances, however the struggling visitors did pose a threat on the counter attack but could not find a killer pass in the final third.
The Granata did not heed these warnings at the start of the second half, and Filip Đorđević should have given Chievo the lead, but the Serbian was twice denied by Salvatore Sirigu.
Simone Zaza came off the bench for Toro as they looked for the breakthrough, and he came close from a free kick that well saved by former Torino keeper Stefano Sorrentino.
With fourteen minutes remaining, Torino finally got the breakthrough, as captain Andrea Belotti broke his goal drought with a sensational long range strike.
In injury time, substitute Tomas Rincon doubled Toro's lead with a curling effort from just outside the area. Simone Zaza then added a third goal, virtually from the kick off, as Torino sealed all three points and a sixth consecutive clean sheet.

Torino v Chievo Preview
After the impressive 2-0 victory against Atalanta, Walter Mazzarri may choose to name an unchanged starting eleven. However, youngster Vincenzo Millico who made his debut as a substitute in that match will be unavailable for selection due to injury.
Chievo have had a miserable season after starting the campaign with a three point deduction, and the Flying Donkeys have only won one of their twenty-five games this season.

Chievo 0-1 Torino
Torino left it late to claim their second win of the season, as Simone Zaza's first goal for the club earnt the Granata all three points.
There was once again a surprise in Walter Mazzarri's starting eleven, as Simone Edera was given his first start of the season.
Despite starting brighter, the home side struggled to create any clear cut chances, with Edera going the closest for either team with an effort that went narrowly wide of the post.
Chievo should have taken the lead in the opening stages of the second half, but Mehdi Léris blazed over the bar when well placed.

Chievo v Torino Preview
The Granata have only managed two points from their last three matches, with the performances against Napoli and Atalanta perhaps Toro's most disappointing of the season so far.
Emiliano Moretti is expected to return to the starting eleven, whilst Iago Falque has been included in the squad after injury.
The home side have yet to win this season, and after having been deducted three points at the start of the season for false accounting, Chievo are currently bottom of the table on -1 points.

Nicolas Burdisso almost had an embarrassing moment, just days after his 37th birthday, as his back header almost looped over Salvatore Sirigu, but the former PSG goalkeeper was able to prevent an own goal.
At the other end, Cristian Ansaldi bamboozled the home defence and was unlucky to see his left footed shot rebound off the post. Andrea Belotti also had a great chance for the Granata, but the Toro captain dragged his shot wide of the target.
In the second half, Mattia Bani headed over the bar from a set piece as Chievo started to threaten the Toro goal. Fabrizio Cacciatore also managed to somehow blaze over the bar after Salvatore Sirigu failed to claim a cross.
In the dying minutes, Mattia Bani received a straight red card for a late challenge on substitute Kevin Bonifazi. However, Toro could not make the numerical advantage count and were forced to settle for a point.

Andrea Belotti missed a second half penalty as Torino were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Grande Torino by Chievo.
Sinisa Mihajlovic named the same starting eleven who played so well against Inter at the San Siro a fortnight ago, with Nicolás Burdisso being preferred to the fit again Lyanco.
The away side started the game brightly, and Lucas Castro almost opened the scoring but his header rebounded of the post. However, Chievo didn't have to wait long to take the lead as Perparim Hetemaj out muscled Lorenzo De Silvestri to head home at the far post.
Toro were level just after the half hour mark when Joel Obi's excellent cross was met by a fantastic looping header from Daniele Baselli.

Torino v Chievo Preview
Toro impressed in their last match before the international break, gaining a well deserved 1-1 draw against Inter at the San Siro.
Andrea Belotti suffered disappointment during the international break after Italy failed to beat Sweden in the Playoff for World Cup 2018.
Brazilian defender Lyanco has recovered from injury, although Nicolas Burdisso impressed against Inter and could keep his place.
Chievo also picked up an impressive result before the international break as they held leaders Napoli to a 0-0 draw at the Stadio Bentegodi.
The 'Flying Donkeys' are only a point behind Torino, and therefore could overtake the Granata with a victory.

Torino have won consecutive away games for the first time this season following an impressive 3-1 victory at Chievo.
Danilo Avelar made his first start of the season at left back, whilst Luca Rossettini and Lucas Boyé also came into the starting eleven.
Boyé looked lively in the opening stages, and his deflected shot forced a good save from former Toro keeper Stefano Sorrentino.
Toro took the lead early in the second half as Adem Ljajic found space and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner from just outside the area. The Granata doubled their lead four minutes later when substitute Davide Zappacosta fired home a sensational volley as the home side failed to clear a corner.

Torino made it three successive league wins with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Chievo on Saturday evening.
The Granata made a bright start and Andrea Belotti and Adem Ljajic both had half chances to open the scoring. Ten minutes before half time, Antonio Barreca's excellent cross found Iago Falque unmarked at the far post and the Spaniard headed past Stefano Sorrentino to give Toro the lead.

Top scorer and talisman Andrea Belotti has recovered from a bout of flu and should be fit to start, whilst Lorenzo De Silvestri is expected to replace Davide Zappacosta at right back.

Torino's poor recent form continued with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Chievo on Sunday afternoon.
Ciro Immobile returned to the starting eleven, whilst there were also starts for Bruno Peres, Danilo Avelar and Joel Obi.
Marco Benassi tried his luck from long distance in the early stages, but his effort was tipped over the bar by Andrea Seculin.
However Toro were ahead moments later when Ciro Immobile's left wing cross was finished exquisitely by Benassi's powerful side-foot finish.
Ciro Immobile had a great chance to double Torino's lead, but he blazed the ball over the bar following Dario Dainelli's poor clearance.
And the Granata were made to pay for that miss as Bruno Peres turned the ball into his own net ten minutes before half time.

With only one win in their last nine matches, Torino will be looking to improve that statistic when they host Chievo on Sunday afternoon.

Giampiero Ventura resisted the temptation to make changes, and instead only made one alteration from the side who beat Sampdoria with Josef Martinez replacing Andrea Belotti.
In a quiet first half, Toro came closest to scoring with Josef Martinez's off target header and Bruno Peres' cross which forced a save out of Albano Bizzarri.
In the second half, Padelli was forced into an excellent double save as he got down low to deny Alberto Paloschi's low drive and then got back up to save from Perparim Hetemaj.
Toro were again finding it difficult to create clear cut chances although Cristian Molinaro almost found Fabio Quagliarella with a low cross.
The home side almost took the lead in sensational fashion when former Torino striker Riccardo Meggiorini connected with an scissor kick which just went wide of the target.
With fifteen minutes remaining Chievo took the lead after a rare mistake from captain Kamil Glik who was caught out of position and that allowed Lucas Castro to run clear and finish well from just outside the box.
Toro couldn't find a way back into the match and therefore fell to their first defeat of the season, but the lack of energy and quality in the performance was probably more of a worry for the Toro fans.

Chievo v Torino Preview
In order for this to happen, Toro would need a favour from Chievo's city rivals Hellas who face league leaders Inter tonight.
The Granata have no injury worries themselves, but there are rumours that Giampiero Ventura will make changes to the team - with Davide Zappacosta, Joel Obi and Josef Martinez all having a chance to come into the side.
Chievo made a promising start to the season by gaining 7 points from their first three games, but they narrowly lost to Inter last time out. Former Granata men Valter Birsa and Riccardo Meggiorini are key players for the home side, and should both start tonight.

Torino kept their slim hopes of European qualification alive with a 2-0 victory over Chievo on Sunday afternoon.
Giampiero Ventura gave rare starts to Pontus Jansson and Gaston Silva in defence, whilst Josef Martinez replaced the injured Fabio Quagliarella upfront.
Former Torino striker Riccardo Meggiorini almost opened the scoring for Chievo, but he blazed his shot over the bar from a difficult angle.
Josef Martinez twice came close to giving Toro the lead, but the Venezuelan was narrowly close from long range on both occasions.
An excellent through ball from Omar El Kaddouri put Martinez through on goal, but this time he was denied by Chievo keeper Francesco Bardi.
However, moments later, former Chievo striker Maxi Lopez gave Toro a deserved lead after he headed home following a goalmouth scramble.
Toro doubled their lead when a long clearance from substitute Kamil Glik put Maxi Lopez in a foot race against Bostjan Cesar, and the Argentine was able to keep his composure and score.
With two games remaining, the Granata are now five points away from 6th place and the final Europa League place - however, if Genoa are denied a Uefa license, then much like last season, Toro could qualify for Europe with a 7th placed finish.

Toro's hopes for European football took a huge blow in that game, but a victory against Chievo should help secure a top 10 finish.

Chievo 0-0 Torino
The first game of 2015 was very much like the tail end of 2014 for Torino, as they struggled for creativity, and most importantly goals, as they drew 0-0 with Chievo on Tuesday afternoon.
Giampiero Ventura once again preferred Cristian Molinaro over Bruno Peres, whilst Gaston Silva surprisingly started in place of Cesare Bovo. Amauri was due to start up front, but a late injury in the warm up meant that he was replaced in the starting eleven by Josef Martinez.
Alexander Farnerud had the first chance of the game for the Granata, but his tame volley was easily saved by Albano Bizzari in the Chievo goal. Fabio Quagliarella, who is without a goal since mid-October, almost ended his goal drought but his goal bound effort was cleared by the home defence.
Chievo were also limited to half chances, but Alberto Paloschi forced a save out of Daniele Padelli, who was deputising for Jean Francois Gillet who was out with flu.
A game that was lacking in any real quality somehow became worse in the second half, with Alexander Farnerud's long range effort Toro's only real opportunity.
Former Torino winger Dejan Lazarevic almost stole the points with a free kick, but his effort was tipped round the post by Daniele Padelli.
A point each was probably a fair result, if only because neither side deserved to come out with a win from this game, but Toro will have to start winning on a more regular basis if they want to avoid a relegation battle.

The Granata will be without Jean Francois Gillet and Omar El Kaddouri due to flu, so Daniele Padelli and Giuseppe Vives should come into the starting eleven.
Amauri was preferred to Fabio Quagliarella for the victory against Genoa, but the former Napoli striker should return to the team and parter Josef Martinez upfront.
Chievo are currently two places and one point behind Toro in 16th position and feature a number of former Granata players in their squad such as Riccardo Meggiorini and Valter Birsa.
